Happy Independence Day, United States!

The party has been going on for hours, here where my family lives. We've been watching the barrage of fireworks from our driveway; colorful airburst explosions and fountains in every direction. The house is shaking from the concussions.

I've never lived anywhere that celebrates American Independence Day quite as lavishly (or loudly) as my current neighborhood.

Speaking of fireworks, cartoonist Mitch Marmel re-submitted this pinup of SnowBuni (pencils by Jason Waltrip) with new colors.

Way to go, Mitch! A storm blew threw my area yesterday and knocked the power out for four hours. Didn't see any fireworks accept for Mother Nature's.
