I posted a short animated clip of Turbo McSwine (from my small press zine_hey, neeters_) on youtube.

Looks excellent!  Now you just need to add some facial expressions to indicate rockstar stage passion!
Cool

I should mention that the fingering looks good, too, although I'm not proficient enough to see if it's really accurate.  Did you do research for the chords, or did you just fake it?

I faked it! He only has 3 fingers and 4 strings, after all. Cheesy

A little of both actually. I looked at a video of someone playing this song and tried to roughly match the fret position. The fingers only suggest chord changes. That's good enough for this type of animation.

Cool. Is that done in Flash CS4. I just started fooling with it. I'm guessing you used the new "bones" feature. It looks like you're using it very well!

You need to start posting some Bullet Crow and Bonnie videos!

You're way ahead of me, regarding Flash.  I've never worked with it, although I have a full license in the Adobe package that I purchased earlier this year.

Like all the Adobe programs there's lots to learn, but there's also an incredible amount of cool stuff. I do intend to animate both Bullet Crow and Phantom Bunny one of these days. You can create a bunch of frames as layers in Photoshop, dump them in the Flash library folder and it keeps all your layer names intact which you can then place in your timeline! You then have a little cartoon with you doing most of the work in Photoshop!

Thanks for the kudos. Actually, I used Anime Studio, which has more powerful bone tools (for now, at least) and is more affordable than Flash.

I took a class and got CS4 on a student discount, so Flash was very inexpensive for me.

The "Bones" looked very slick, so I wondered how you got them looking so smooth. That explains it!

Hey, Mike, I thought of you when I saw this detailed fingering for an animated guitar riff.  These close-ups are obviously rotoscoped, though.

Insane! Rotoscoping is a good technique when used judiciously.
