Reprinted from Cartoonist Mike Sagara.

I thought I should open a new discussion for this 3D model of  SnowBuni, developed by game designer Mike Sagara.

Here's the walk cycle for this model (hosted at PhotoBucket).

The computer in game designer Mike Sagara writes:

Here's a bouncier version that you can replace the previous version with. I tried to follow your drawings when I modeled SB this time around, but it's definitely a work in progress. SB is a difficult character to get looking just right, and you might have notice the 3D models generally seem to lack the personality of a 2D drawing. I will most likely rebuild the model again at some point, so for now, I've noted your comments to incoporate into future versions.

The hair created in Pixar films are procedural and use lots of computing power. Lightwave has procedural hair and fur, but render time makes it impractical for now. I use simple textured planes. These 1 sec clips take 2 minutes to render; with procedural hair, it could take 30 minutes.

Here's the "new & improved" walk cycle (with 50% more bounce than previous models):

Game designer Mike Sagara used these 3D SnowBuni models during the development of his online game, SparkBall.

I was thinking of submitting a 3D SnowBuni design proposal to PatchTogether.com, for a possible limited edition statuette.

PatchTogether.com

Looks like they work in a mostly-chibi style, so a slight redesign of the space bunnygirl would be required.
Cool
