My other hobby is photography, and the Emerald City convention is a good place for cartooning, collecting,
and photos. The costumes don't disappoint, either; many are amazingly professional and detailed.
One of the stormtroopers was showing me the electronics and ventilation systems
inside his helmet. I don't think even the official movie props were this sophisticated!
Of course, now I want to wear a costume for one of the upcoming events, too. It's kind of like a special mid-year Halloween party.

There was no lack of cute girls. Twenty years ago this would have been unlikely, but the comic book social scene has really changed. I think that the rise of "relationship manga" has attracted the young ladies, so the community is much more balanced than it used to be.
