SparkBall! SWF by game designer Mike Sagara

Hey, we have a new online ShockWave Flash game featuring SnowBuni, ShaddoPhase, and a Dethret Overseer by game designer Mike Sagara.  Screencaps:

I renamed this game as Sparkball! since "Battleball" seems to be fairly common when googled. This game is probably best thought of as proof-of-concept because it isn't fully developed. The biggest lack is it only has single game mode and no high score table. However, it is playable and, at this point, I'm going to put this project on hiatus since I want to turn my attention to other projects. Feel free to comment though and I'll incorporate them into the next iteration.

Play SparkBall!

I should explain that the screenies are of an earlier version. Also, you start over at zero after each bout.

Yippee, I'm a game designer! I get to join Kyle in the game gallery finally! Cheesy

That Dethret dude is kicking my posterior.  I think my win-loss rate is about 1/10.

Hmm, I should add a difficulty option next time. Or maybe sexy/funny ending screens as motivation.

I thought of another improvement for the game... I usually listen to Internet radio when I'm online, so I'm hearing two conflicting feeds when I play SparkBall.  Although I like the in-game sound, there should be an option to turn it off.

My 3 1/2-year-old son likes to sit on my lap and watch while I work on the computer, and I happen to show him the SparkBall game the other day.  Now he wants to see it every time we sit at the computer.
Shocked Grin

He thinks it's funny and laughs whenever Daddy loses, which is often... I have yet to develop a strategy that improves my win/loss ratio.

Ironically, he likes the cat better than the bunny.
Sad

His other favorites include Kyle Miller's Closet Chaos! game, Mike Sagara's Animated SnowBuni Walk Cycle, and John Morgan's SnowBuni disassembling the Giant Robot (he considers all robots scary & unfriendly, probably because of his early exposure to Itchy & Scratchy Land via the Simpsons).

I guess I'd better work on version 2 Tongue.

The original BeadBang game is way harder. Truth is my middle-age synapses are too slow for these twitchy type games.

Maybe I'll add a "slo-mo" option as well Roll Eyes.
