During the mid-80's and 90's, cartoonist
Mike Sagara was one of the premiere small press and anthropomorphic artists. In addition to producing his own self-published series, "Hey, Neeters!," he also did work for Mike and Carole Curtis's
Shanda the Panda and
Tank Vixens franchises. His work is favorably compared to
Stan Sakai (the artistic craftsman responsible for
Usagi Yohimbo) for his use of simple, elegant linework and expressive minimalism.
Cartoonist Sagara has also provided significant artwork for a number of other SnowBuni projects and publications, including the lead story in the debut issue of SnowBuni's self-titled independent comic (
SnowBuni) from
MU Press, as well as other various other fanzine appearances and model sheet illustrations by
Pseudo Comics.
Cartoonist Sagara is still active in a number of small projects today, having returned from a long sabbatical from cartooning. We're happy to have him back.
