Halloween 2005 Pinup Contest sketch

...thought I'd post my work-in-progress for my Halloween 2005 pinup entry.

I'm using my "Loonatic" version of SnowBuni, with the modifications as suggested by Kyle Miller.  The mad scientist is my caricature of Peter Lorre, for his role in the classic monster movies.

Hey There,

Well, do we need a hero to go and rescue a Buni from those scientists.  Or this case a certain Anti-Hero...

I would say one punch should send that big hair ball flying.

Yes the big hair ball was dispatched to stop the agent from rescuing the captive.  The furrball was sent flying right through the wall into the machine holding the Buni-Girl captive.  Big Red HairBall was hit so hard that he did not stop at the machine but was sent throw it destroying it as well.  The only thing the scientists could do was run for cover as the huge machine began to come apart at the seems which held it together.  SnowBuni was flung into the air along with bits and fragments of the machine only to be caught by the stranger wearing the cloak.  And the last thing that the scientist heard was "I have you sister-in-law..."  Before shrapnel wounded him.

Hope you like the story, nice picture I like it...

I think I might try drawing that version of Snowbuni sometime.

Close, but not quite the way it works in this scenario.

SnowBuni has been captured by the evil scientist, who is going to turn her into an obediant monster servant, Bwah hah haaaaaah!  Unable to save herself, Snowi is zapped, but finds that she kind of likes being a big orange furball.  Cool!

...I'm digging it.  I need to put together a complete model sheet set of all the Sylvalagi characters in mLoonatic 2.0 style.

Hey There,

How about this then after knocking the other big hairball throught the wall and the machine, this Anti-Hero walks into the room very calm as if nothing had happened to him holding a very interesting looking rifle almost like a giant needle.  The stranger blasts SnowBuni changing her back into her former self, only SnowBuni shrinks up high, along with the scientist and they both fall to the ground but SnowBuni is caught by the stranger who greets her with the Sister in Law stuff.

Well this will turn her back into her former self at least any way.

...I'm having second thoughts about this pinup.  I know that some of my readers object whenever we inflict pain on poor SnowBuni, even though she's an adventuress and these risks are part of the territory.  Nonetheless, we're trying to avoid outright misogyny here.

I might abandon this pinup at this stage.  Any thoughts?  Comments?  Should I finish this artwork, or let it go?

Aw, don't go all PC or anything like that... by all means, finish it when you have the time. (It's the 'Loonatics' edition of Snowi, anyway!)

Yes please finish it.

Please do not leave us hanging even if you do not post it.  It should be a project when you have the free time, just for fun.  Besides most of us this board will support you no matter what...

Well, all cartoonists spend a lot of time inside their own skull, so sometimes it is difficult to accurately gauge how our audience will react to a given pinup.  I suspect that this is why we all appreciate feedback and commentary on our work.

In the past, I have received the occasional email with a message like, "How dare you do that to poor SnowBuni!"  I suppose this is good, because it means that people care about my character, but on the other hand, it shows that I could have done a better job with the story elements.

...actually this version of SnowBuni seems to be evolving away from the "Loonatics" and becoming more like the house style from "Sonic the HedgeHog."  Not a bad thing, I'm thinking.

Thanks for the support.  I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't making a mistake here.

I would like to see a more Anime style on this, plus their is always the solution for this problem and a story here which would lead us to a cure.  Plus it reminds me of the one with the doctor that turned Snowi into a bunny.  And the cure she discovered later on...  Then again it could be another one of her tall tails that she is infamous for just to get more choclate maybe out of poor Raxxe or even Greg.

So the only mistake here would be not finishing the project, I think that is the worst thing you could do.  Plus different styles are always good but do not give up one for another use them all we are all different and have different tastes.

Plus I like the other work you do as well, I like it all even the risky stuff.  I think that is all I need to say.
