Well, a Yuck for some is a Cool for others.
All I can say is that Genus has made it to 74 issues,
and that's more than a lot of comics have done.
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:...and the Albedo universe... well, there's some promise there, but I think the property is defunct. As far as I know writer/draftsman Steve Gallacci is not creating any new episodes.
Also, I thought the single most interesting aspect of his universe was the disappearance of the human creators... although this event has been vaguely described in several stories, cartoonist Gallacci has told me that he has no plans to investigate this issue any further. ...which, I think, is a tragic waste.
Oh, if there is anything I agree with here, it's that Gallacci could do so much more with what he has. the Extraplanetary Defense Force against the
Independant Lapine Republic, and snowbuni being a bunny, it would be a hard sf/moral story to write.

I can just see the bickering between Snowbuni and Rainbow. (a straight outta the 60's hippybuni)
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:I'm not familiar with BattleTech, although I love the Robotech series of models (adapted from the Dougram line of mobile armor).
it's a tabletop warfare game, now with several video game compnents, it's been around for 20 years, it's set in the 3000's, and it's mostly giant robot warefare. the fun part is you get to design the robots. the latest game derived from it is called Mechwarrior, that uses the heroclix bases to play.
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:I must confess that I've never read an issue of Ebin and May, and I've seen maybe one issue of Extinctioners. So, I'm not very familiar with these properties.
Ebin and May are seen in the pages of furlough.
medival court politics. and May has a bit of a sharp
tongue on her at times. facinating what she sometimes says.
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:Usagi Yohimbo is a possibility, given that SnowBuni has already been displaced in time to meet Donna Barr's The Desert Peach, a gay World War II German Army officer serving in the Afrika Corps. I'm barely familiar with these other characters that you've mentioned.
I have absolutly zero love for any Barr output.
she's not a furry artist, and took part in Skunk.
I raise the impudent digit to all four so called artists
that took part in it. it is a bad thing that they put
snowbuni on the cover, (even though it'a a backshot)
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:SnowBuni has also teamed-up with Larry Blake's Nightshade in Fandom Team-Up #2, a full-length story published in 1986 IIRC.
Now this one, *I* am unfamiliar with. wow.
Got me there. and I thought I had a big library of knowlage.
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:A crossover with cartoonist Roz Gibson's Jack Salem would be difficult, in that she (and I quote) "loathes" SnowBuni. Whatever floats her boat, I suppose...
I say that as a response to her loathing. it's certainly her right not to like a comic, but to say so loudly is rude. There are comics I don't like, so I just don't mention them and keep going.
Her shouting that in a blog is (for me at least)
grounds for turnabout, lets see how she might like us badmouthing her properties.
jhwood9 wrote on Dec 20th, 2005 at 11:37am:Generally, crossovers are difficult because the different continuities have to be rectified somehow, usually by some odd temporal discontinuity. And, crossovers almost always require a generic plot... the more dissimilar the characters, the more generic the story becomes. And SnowBuni is rather unique, so writing an interesting crossover for her with any other character would be a challenge.
I don't doubt this in the slightest. but how each induhvidual character deals with generic situations is what makes crossovers so much fun.
The previously mentioned Grimjack had a run of like
80 odd issues before First comics imploded, and his world, cynosure, a place where dimensions fade in and out on a regular basis is tailor made for any teamup anybody would care to do.
That's the problem with being a fan. you can think of it, but if you want to do the work to make it happen, you're stuck.
