Comments from the "Ode to Star Trek"Design Contest 2009:

  • Judge 01
    • Honorary: William Earl Haskell - Had William's entry arrived on time, it would have surely taken second or third place. While I suspect that with more time he could have pared the verbiage back a bit and managed to include word balloons (were he so inclined), the costumes and sets look quite good, and Snowbuni and Emily are certainly getting to the point of the contest, even going so far as to make Spock blush. This pinup also refers to one of the more intriguing aspects of the Star Trek universe; the replicators that render the Federation a post-money society (the Ferenghi nonwithstanding). Tch, I see that he refers to them as 'fabricators'; I wonder if the show's creators ever slipped up?
    • I present William with the Dammit Scotty Award for asking more of the machinery than it wants to provide.
  • Judge 02
    • William Haskell: (not judged) Two young ensigns discuss the problem with their clothes. SnowBuni and Emily are well drawn - but I find the dialogue long and has little to do with the picture.
