Comments from the March Madness Contest 2008:

• Judge "A" says:
• Snowbuni's look of triumph and Geralderson's of defeat were perfect. Snowbuni's costume and the similar coloring of the basketball were nice touches. In my opinion, the addition of the lights on the ceiling, though helping to define the space, were more of a distraction than a plus. Too, the line where the ceiling and wall joined seemed to go far beyond where the end of the gym should have ended. On the other hand, using stick figures for the crowd was a nice touch of silliness.
• I really loved the breaking of the bottom panel by Snowbuni's feet as she jumps. It helps propel her upwards, and in a way presages her triumph over Geralderson, who's imprisoned in the background. It's possible Mike didn't come up with this winning layout consciously to reflect the winner and loser, but years of coming up with interesting ways to visually interpret art direction makes these kind of decisions second nature.
• Anatomically, Snowbuni looks easily capable of trouncing someone at just about any sport
